Microsoft Windows 10 Internet connectivity issue

Microsoft has found out a new issue in the recent Windows 10 update. This displays that there is no Internet connection but people are able to access the Web browser. However, some users have reverted that there is a loss of connection too.

Users have also found that they are unable to access Microsoft's applications when the connection is still on. This is because apps like Cortana, One Drive, Teams, Microsoft 365 depend upon the internet status to function.

The Network Connectivity Status Indicator in the taskbar is showing that the PC does not have internet. This is an issue that is being reported by several users. Microsoft has acknowledged this issue but has not come up with a solution yet. So, many have opted to uninstall the recent update. This could solve the issue for the time being. Microsoft is trying to resolve the issue completely very soon.

If you are facing this issue, then here are a few things to try.

Registry Editor

1. Go to the Registry Editor on the desktop search bar.
2. Click this app and run the app as it opens.
3. Now start navigating to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet
4. On EnableActiveProbing, change the value from 0 to 1 and press OK.
5. Close the Registry and restart the system.

This has worked for a few users. Although for some, the value is already in 1 and yet are facing connectivity issues.

Uninstalling recent updates

1. Go to the Settings app on Windows 10.
2. Select Update and Security and click on View update history.
3. On the top left corner, click Uninstall Updates.
4. Control panel with all updates is displayed.
5. Click the recent update or search its KB number to locate.
6. Now click Uninstall and Confirm.
7. Restart the PC.

Either of them is not a permanent solution. We still have to wait for Microsoft to give a proper solution.
