Thanks to the affordable prices and up-to-date
hardware, the Samsung Galaxy M series phones have gained a lot of popularity.
Samsung has been able to sell the phone at lower prices by selling the phones
online and reducing the distribution costs. With the current sentiments of
Indian citizens against buying Chinese products or from companies that
originate from the country, there lies a great opportunity for the South Korean
giant.
The introduction of Samsung Galaxy M30 under
the price tag of INR 15,000 set the pace for the company in the budget segment
and the refreshed version M30s helped the company strengthen its position in
the segment. And now they have brought another version of the popular M series,
the Galaxy M31. the phone now comes with an upgrade in the camera department
with the camera being bumped up from triple to quad camera setup.
The company has not made any major design
changes and it is difficult to distinguish between the M30s and the M31 from
the front. That’s because both the phones sport a 6.4-inch screen with the
uniquely named Infinity U display (called the waterdrop notch by the other
brands). The bezels on the device come with a standard width in this range and
you certainly cannot accept the kind of infinity displays you get on the Galaxy
S and the Note Series which are both flagship series from the company. To cut
down on the cost, the company has used plastic for the body of the phone and
the earpiece sit neatly right above the screen.
The phone even after being 6.4 inches big
feels comfortable to hold in the hand and offers a good grip even for the
people who have not-so-large hands. The volume buttons and the power button sit
on the right of the device. On the left side, you can find the SIM tray slot.
The phone comes with a 3.5 mm headphone jack, USB Type C port, and a speaker at
the bottom of the unit. The top of the phone houses a secondary microphone.
